After having to cancel Capital Letters in 2020 and 2021, the good news is that we have re-booked the venue for Saturday 14 May 2022.
The event will be held in Goodenough College, Bloomsbury, London. The venue has a full range of refreshment facilities, including meals, snacks, hot and cold drinks, etc. Goodenough College is centrally located and is within easy walking distance of numerous Underground and mainline stations. Capital Letters Day 2022 will include
- The Daubney Lecture, “Calligraphy and Illumination in the Royal Library”, given by Dr Stella Panayotova, Royal Librarian and Assistant Keeper of the Royal Archives
- Lay Members’ Exhibition with commentary by Tony Curtis FSSI
- SSI Advanced Training Scheme: students will be showing a selection of their work to celebrate three years of intense study
- SSI Study Days: students will be displaying their projects
- A variety of demonstrations of calligraphy and associated skills by renowned practitioners.
- Calligraphic suppliers including Cornellisens and others
- Regional Group display by Calderdale Calligraphers
- East Surrey College
- SSI Archives and Library displays, SSI sales and Raffle
- Goody Bag!
Entry for the 2022 Lay Members’ exhibition has now closed, but you can still see the 2021 Lay Members’ Exhibition and the 2020 Lay Members’ Exhibition .
