The Edward Johnston Foundation

The Edward Johnston Foundation is dedicated to the promotion of public awareness of calligraphy, not only as an art form in its own right but also as the seed and reference point for many other lettering disciplines including modern typeface design.

The Letter Exchange

The Letter Exchange is a society for professionals involved in the whole spectrum of the lettering arts and crafts, from calligraphy and letter-cutting, through design for print, publishing and typography, to signage and architectural lettering.

The Society for Italic Handwriting

The Society for Italic Handwriting was founded in 1952 by Alfred Fairbank and Joseph Compton. Its aim is to spread the practice of the Italic script by publishing a quarterly magazine called Writing Matters, which contains up to date information on pens, paper, writing equipment and other matters relating to the study and practice of this beautiful hand.
