Use of this website
By using this website you agree to the following terms. If you are not happy with these terms, please
do not use the website.
This website includes links to other websites. While we choose these links with care, we are not
responsible for the content of other websites and you use these links at your own risk
All prices are in UK pounds sterling. The SSI is not registered for VAT and does not collect it. Prices
and delivery charges may change at any time, without notice. Delivery charges vary depending on
the items in the order and the order destination. The fee to be charged is shown before the
transaction is completed.
All orders are subject to availability. If we do not have stock of an item you have ordered, we will let
you know as soon as possible and give a full refund for that item. If no item in your order is available,
we will also refund any delivery costs that you have paid.
We accept payment via Stripe, which processes most major credit/debit cards.
You can also pay using a PayPal account if you have one.

Product Delivery and Returns
For UK addresses your item(s) should arrive within 10 working days of your order but please allow 21
working days before getting in touch. We use economy shipping for overseas orders for which up to
56 days should be allowed. Under the Consumer Contracts Regulations (formerly Distance Selling
Regulations), you have the right to cancel your order within 14 days of receiving the items. After this
time, we cannot cancel or refund an order.
If you cancel your order after goods have been despatched, or choose to return an item, then you
are responsible for the cost of return postage. Goods should be returned within 14 days of
cancellation, and must be in a saleable condition unless a fault was the reason for the return.
For whole orders cancelled before despatch, we will refund the total cost of your order, including
delivery costs, within 14 days of cancellation.
For returned items, we will refund you within 14 days of us receiving the returned items. If you
return the whole order, we will refund the initial delivery cost that you were charged (but not the
return cost). If you return part of an order, we may refund part of the initial delivery cost. Refunds
will generally be made outside the Paypal process, by agreement.
Payment for products
Products may only be ordered and paid for online. Online payments to the SSI will be processed by
Paypal or Stripe. You may choose to use your existing Paypal account but you do not need an account
with either to pay us, only a credit or debit card, and Paypal or Stripe will process the amount to be
charged to your card.
Payment online other than for products (in development)
You can renew your membership online, and during 2017 we expect to have the facility for new
members to join the Society online. You may in future be paying for a calligraphy course, or to
attend one of our events. We will also use your choice of Paypal or Stripe to process these
payments if booked online. You may also choose to book these services offline or (in the UK)
to pay via BACS (if you use online banking) or the direct credit system (in a bank branch)
which are our preferred routes.
